Lag to Tap In Range
The Fault
YOUR lag putts never reach safe tap-in distance, and you tend to push them right.

The Fix
Set two tees upright about half an inch outside the heel and toe of your putter. Set the ball in the center of this gate and try to putt without hitting either tee.

Why It Works
Lag putts are tough if you don’t hit the ball in the center of the face. And if you’re like many players, you set up to the ball with your shoulders open, which causes you to come across the ball and miss right. (It also adds loft to your shot, which is why you come up short.) The gate drill forces your shoulders to align with the target—set up open, and you’ll hit the inside tee. With just a little work, you’ll be lag putting like a pro in no time.
